Magic Tricks You Can Do

Learn fun magic you can perform using materials from your box!

THE LINKING PAPER CLIPS

Effect: Two paper clips, separated on a bill, link together in an instant

Difficulty: Easy

Supplies needed:
$2 bill*
2 paper clips

*This will work with any bill, or even a piece of paper cut to bill size.

The Jumping Rubber Band trick

Effect: A rubber band jumps from two fingers across to two other fingers

Difficulty: Easy

Supplies needed:
2 rubber bands*

*The rubber bands in your box may be too large for your hand—you need rubber bands that are a little snug against your fingers when you pull it back over your fingertips. The rubber bands in your box are 2-inch bands; you may prefer 1-inch bands.

ANIMAL SOUNDS

Effect: The magician reads their helper’s mind to identify what animal sound is being thought of

Difficulty: Medium

Supplies needed:
Animal Card Deck

Vanishing Mug Trick

Effect: Presto! A mug disappears

Difficulty: Medium

Supplies needed: *
Spooner mug and spoon
Aluminum foil
Coin

* A lot of different items will work for this trick—instead of the coin, you could use a button or any small, flat object. Instead of the mug you could use a small cup or a salt shaker. Instead of aluminum foil you can use a large napkin (although it’s easier to use a napkin with a salt shaker or an object smaller than the mug).
